To Affiliate or Not to Affiliate.....

Affiliate marketing in and of itself is a great concept. You get to market someone else's e-book or program for percentage of the profit. You can do this through ClickBank which has many great products and your profit can be as high as 75% for the effort...not bad! The other big plus is that technically you don't even have to have your own website / domain since you receive a unique hyperlink that identifies you as the seller. That means you avoid the hosting and domain costs. It is still a good idea though to plunk down the $7.95 or $9.95 for a domain and pay the monthly hosting fee. What you get for your money is your own site that identifies you and with some due diligence will give you credibility and make you brandable which translates to more sales and higher profit.

The problem though is that you still have to advertise and find a way to make your profit. One concern is that the hyperlink can be tampered with which means you don't get the profit. Another hurdle is getting your site setup and making it visible on the search engines using SEO [search engine optimization] tools not to mention writing and placing your ads to the right safelists, classified sites and e-zines. You can easily spend hours a day looking through the "how-to" websites and e-books available to help you through this. You can even get someone else to setup your site for you but that can run you in excess of $1,000.

Or.........

The "How To's" of Adsense

When I first started out in network marketing and was getting my different websites setup I received quite a few emails regarding AdSense [a topic which I knew nothing about]. I started looking at some of the different e-books on AdSense and I learned a little bit from these but I always felt like I was missing something. I also thought that AdSense was a great idea. If I could place other peoples Google ads on my sites and get paid for people coming to my sites and clicking the ads that might be a great way to offset some of my own advertising costs. What I needed was a book that would cover all the bases from setting up the account to getting the ads on my sites to tracking.

One day I got this email from Joel Comm telling me about this book he wrote. The book is AdSense Secrets 4.0. I checked it out and saw it was only $9.95 [which was less than I paid for other books] and thought "what the heck". I got the book and wow...was I ever impressed. Aside from the fact that Joel Comm is pretty much recognized as an AdSense expert and guru the book itself is 232 pages packed with the most current information on how to get the most punch out of your AdSense ads. It will show you everything a person would need to know about AdSense and how to make it a profitable part of your network marketing schematic.

You definitely want to add this book to your collection. Go to AdSense Secrets 4.0

And so it begins.....

Hello to all you marketers and entrepreneurs!

Although I've been involved in internet marketing for the last 7 years it's only within the last few months that I've really seen the possibilities thanks to people like Jeff Johnson, Joel Comm, Mike Filsaime, Tellman Knudsen, Ewan Chia and a host of other marketing mavericks!

What I experienced in the first 7 years of marketing could only be called blindly following the leader. If you have ever been involved in some of the mlm's out there you'll know what I'm talking about. In most cases you're given a marketing model to follow, meetings to attend and a number of other tasks that you believe will result in success. The problem though is that if this model is followed then basically the idea of "duplication" becomes the problem. Everyone has the same website, same products and are getting leads pretty much from the same sources...no differentiation.

That's when I started looking for information on products and sites that had succeeded and discovered that the mlm approach had been wrong. Several key components were missing:

  • Building the customer relationship beyond the sale
  • Offering valuable and changing content
  • Setting up the sales funnel so that people want to come back to your site for more
  • Staying in step with the changing schematic of online marketing [blogs, YouTube etc..]
  • Joining forums that focus on what works and what doesn't work
  • Testing and tracking your ad campaigns
  • Mentoring program

There are some great tools and some awsome teachers out there and in the weeks and months ahead I'm going to continue to post what I've learned in the hope that it can help you with your business and no doubt I'll learn alot from you as well -

'Till next time
